I am exploring solution oriented best available techniques (BATs) for the development of green cities at my PhD research work. Majority population of the world is living in the cities and emissions produced in the city areas impact prominently to climate change. It is imperative to reduce significant amount of carbon emissions in the urban areas to address global warming and climate change. I am studying how renewable energy productions, green fuels consumptions, energy efficiency improvements, smart policies, awareness and community participations can help to construct the green cities. Particularly, my study focuses how Helsinki Metropolitan area can be carbon neutral by 2050.  My other research interests are smart grid systems, energy networks, carbon sequestrations and use of information communication and technology (ICT) in the energy sector.
